Meet with other local people who are interested in gaining leadership skills through volunteering for their community! We offer community service, business development, networking, international connections and social opportunities. The Tampa Jaycees were established in 1924 and is the oldest active chapter in the state.
The Tampa Jaycees is open to men and women between the ages of 21 and 40 and our dues are $60 per year. We provide free to low cost JCI leadership trainings for our members. Our next training will be held on February 26-27th. You can find more information about these courses on www.jci.cc. The course is opened to Jaycees only at this time.
The Tampa Jaycees is one of Florida's oldest leadership development and community service organizations for young professionals. Over the past 80 years, we have been a vital part of this community, starting the Gasparilla Children's Parade, bringing the Miss Tampa pageant to the area, and playing a pivotal role in securing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL franchise. We continue to make a difference to this day, providing volunteers and fundraising support to organizations such as Lowry Park Zoo, Abiltities Foundation, Humane Society of Tampa Bay, Habitat for Humanity, Autism Speaks, Metropolitan Ministries, American Cancer Society, and the Home Association among others.
As the local chapter of Junior Chamber International, the Tampa Jaycees are part of a world-wide network of entrepreneurs, professionals, civic leaders, and other young adults passionate about community service. In fact, many distinguished Americans have been part of the Jaycees family, including former presidents Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan, businessmen Bill Gates and Howard Hughes, and notables such as basketball great Larry Bird, aviator Charles Lindbergh, and former Miss America Lani Rae Rafko-Wilson.
