Hello! My name is Tracy Curtin Ropar and I am the new Director of Communications of United Planet. I am looking forward to hearing your travel/ volunteer stories -- and just generally meeting you all! See you at our next meeting.
What were your motivations for volunteering?
To help people and animals who can not help themselves live better, safer, happier lives.
have you ever been an international volunteer before?
No, but I have been a volunteer domestically for the Red Cross, US Humane Society, MA Animal Coalition and Grey2KUSA. I was one of the hundreds of volunteers who traveled to New Orleans to help the animals/people of Katrina in 2005.
what is one of your favorite memories from your volunteer experience?
Reuniting families with their beloved pets in New Orleans -- and comforting those who had lost their "best friends" in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
