Revlon K Run/Walk for Women!

Group event to participate in a 5k (3.1 miles) Run / Walk from Times Square to the East Meadow (94th St & 5th) in Central Park.
This event is for anyone who is interested in bringing the sponsor, EIF Revlon, closer to its goal of finding a cure and leading to more efficient methods of cancer treatment for women.(40,000 men, women, and children participated last year!)
The DONATION to EIF Revlon is $30; there are no fund raising minimums though they do encourage you to ask others to sponsor your participation. Proceeds from the Manhattan race are equally distributed among 15 beneficiaries, most of which are New York-based. The amount donated depends upon how much the race costs and how much is raised by participants.
So join the fight! Your participation leads to cutting-edge medical breakthroughs and diagnostic treatment. The breakthroughs not only help women with cancer, but also the friends, families and loved ones whose lives have been affected by the disease.
Your $30 registration fee includes a Revlon Run/Walk For Women t-shirt, a gift bag, and a boxed lunch which they give to you at the end. Registrations on or after April 28th are subject to a $5 late fee. All participants who register before April 30th will receive a Run/Walk packet in the mail that includes a welcome letter, a pledge form, a collection envelope, an information pamphlet and a participant ID (bib) number.
Leah (Assistant Organizer)will e-mail her cell to anyone who RSVPs yes or maybe a couple of days before the event for any stragglers, but we will meet at a specific street corner or a coffeehouse nearby.
Tentatively, we will meet on the outskirts of Times Square and then join the walk as a Group. If you can suggest a place where we can meet, please let me know. This is also going to be a joint event with the New York Walking Meetup Group (http://walkers.meetup... ) and the New York Nonfiction Reading Group (http://bookclub.meetu... ).
