I could not find a group in my area that both knits and contributes to the community so I decided to form one myself. There are many great organizations out there that will take donated knitted items. Some that I would like to contribute to are Knit a Square (sewn together into blankets and sent to AIDS orphans in Africa), Afghans for Afghans, Project Linus (blankets for ill children). We're a social and service club for people of above average height. Membership criteria is: minimum of 21 years old, 5'10" or taller for women, 6'2" and taller for men.
